What we talk about when we talk about shark food

Sharks eat a wide variety of things, and they tend to eat whenever they can.  At the Aquarium the sharks get fed daily and they love them some fish, every. single. time.

But there are oddballs of every species. Here is an interesting story about a nurse shark who has turned into a vegetarian, proving that surviving life threatening surgeries often causes people (and tiburones) to make lifestyle changes.

Unfortunately for Florence, she needs more protein in her diet, and therefore her captors have been hiding fish in her celery and heads of lettuce.

Don’t tell Matt Milikin, but i’ve been doing the same thing to him since I started work at Deep Blue

and just for a stark contrast,

here is how a Great White Shark eats a head of lettuce.

Your blogs are always so interesting but I’m meant to be doing work! Seriously thanks for the article link – it’s so bizarre! Bruce mutters to himself ‘fish are friends, not food!’
